We welcome the joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States on the latest Israeli decisions specifically the announcement of settlements.

We demand that words be turned to deeds, in an international will that compels Israel to stop its aggression and its measures, against the Palestinian people.




Al-Sheikh received the US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs

Today, Wednesday, I received the US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, Mrs. Barbara Leaf, and her deputy, Mr. Hady Amr, and Ms. Kim Harrington from the NSC in the presence of Mr. Majdi Al-Khalidi, and Mr. Nabil Abu Rudeineh.

We discussed the latest political and field developments in the Palestinian territories as a result of the dangerous Israeli escalation, especially in Jerusalem, the settlers’ terror and their daily attacks on the lands and properties of Palestinian citizens in the WB, and the continuous escalation against female and male prisoners in the occupation prisons.

And I stressed the need for Israel to stop all unilateral measures, and to pressure on the Israeli government to stop all forms of escalation, the need to abide by the agreements signed between the #PLO and Israel, and to implement international legitimacy resolutions leading to ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 67 borders, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

We call on the international community to intervene immediately to stop this massacre, and the leadership will hold a meeting next Friday to discuss ways to respond to the continuation of the series of occupation escalation.




President Abbas urges US to intervene to stop Israeli government’s extremist measures

President Mahmoud Abbas urged today the US administration to intervene to stop the far-right Israeli government’s extremist measures and racist agenda before it is too late.

The President’s call was made during a meeting with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, where he briefed the latter on the latest developments in Palestine, including the destructive measures taken by the new Israeli government with the aim of destroying the two-state solution and the chances of peace and stability in the region.

President Abbas warned of the danger of the Israeli measures and their repercussions, calling on the US administration to intervene immediately before it is too late to stop these unilateral measures, including settlements, daily killings, the raids into Palestinian cities and towns, and the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Christian and Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem.

The President stressed the importance of the US administration fulfilling its commitments to preserve the two-state solution, stop Israeli settlement activity, preserve the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem, reopen the US consulate in Jerusalem, reopen the PLO office in Washington and stop the unilateral Israeli measures.




Al-Sheikh met with the US Special Representative for Palestinian Affairs

Today, I met with the US Special Representative for Palestinian Affairs, Mr. Hady Amr, in my office in Ramallah. Where we discussed Palestinian-US bilateral relations, and political developments in the region, especially after the outcome of the recent elections and the formation of the new Israeli government. I stressed the need for a political horizon that preserves the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy, and for the Government of Israel to stop all of its unilateral measures and daily attacks which destroy the efforts toward a two-state solution and destroy security and stability.

Also present on the Palestinian side was the diplomatic advisor to the President, Dr. Majdi Al-Khalidi.

The prisoner leader Marwan Al-Barghouti and 70 other prisoners were transferred from the cells of Hadarim detention center to strict isolation in Nafha detention center, as part of an organized campaign against the prisoners by the so-called Minister of National Security Ben Gvir.

Ben Gvir had previously announced his intention to take strict measures against the Palestinian prisoners.
