Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, said that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the leadership ‘welcome the truth agreement,’ appreciating the efforts made by Qatar and Egypt.

“President Abbas and the leadership welcome the humanitarian truce agreement, we appreciate the Qatari-Egyptian effort that has been made,” he said in a post he made on X.

“We renew the call for a comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the introduction of humanitarian aid, and the implementation of a political solution based on international legitimacy, leading to an end to the occupation and the Palestinian people gaining their freedom, independence, and sovereignty,” he added.

Her Excellency Potzel stressed the rejection of the killing of civilians on both sides, and her country’s position in support of a political path that guarantees security, calm and stability in the region on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy.

This Tuesday morning, I received the French Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Nicholas Cassiandis.

We discussed the humanitarian catastrophe occurring in the Gaza Strip, ways for calm and immediately end the ongoing aggression against the Strip, and ways to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Strip.

I stressed the rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians outside their homeland and the necessity of protecting civilians.

The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the region was discussed today, and the French Republic’s rejection of the killing of civilians on both sides, the Palestinian and Israeli, was reaffirmed, and its support for a political path that guarantees security, calm and stability in the region on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy.

I also welcomed the new French Consul General in the region, wishing him success in his mission.

I stressed our rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their country, and stressed that the only solution is the existence of a political horizon that will lead to the two-state solution.
