Al-Sheikh received the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process

Today, Monday, I received the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland.

We discussed ways to have calm and immediately end the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, and ways to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Strip by opening safe pathways for the entry of medical supplies, and food, as well as restoring water and electricity, in addition to our rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians outside their homeland and the necessity of protecting civilians. I called on the United Nations to intervene immediately and mobilize the international community and not take a position of condemnation only. I also stressed the need to have the political horizon, which will ensure security, calm and stability in the region.




Al-Sheikh had a phone call with His Excellency the Egyptian Foreign Minister

I had a phone call this morning with His Excellency the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, and we agreed on the necessity of international pressure to stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip and the necessity of opening humanitarian pathways urgently, and the absolute rejection of the displacement of our people from their homeland, and the coordination of the Arab effort and communication with all countries of the world to communicate our clear and constant position.




Al-Sheikh met with the representatives of the G7

Today, I called on the representatives of the G7 in a meeting in my office in Ramallah, to stop the Israeli aggression against our people and open humanitarian pathways.

And the need to stop the occupation’s plans to displace our people, and stressed the necessity of finding a political solution that ends the occupation and fulfills the legitimate rights of our people to freedom, independence, and the establishment of a Palestinian state with its capital, Jerusalem.

The meeting was attended by the presidential spokesman, Mr. Nabil Abu Rudeineh.

Today, I met with His Excellency the Saudi Ambassador, Mr. Nayef Al-Sudairi, in Ramallah, where we discussed the latest political developments and brotherly bilateral relations.




Al-Sheikh met with the representative of the Sultanate of Oman in Palestine

Today, Wednesday, I met with the representative of the Sultanate of Oman in Palestine, His Excellency Ambassador Salem bin Habib Alomairi.

We discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, and the latest developments on the local, regional and international political scene.

I expressed our appreciation to the position of the Sultanate and the brotherly Omani people in supporting the Palestinian cause, and in turn, His Excellency Ambassador Alomairi affirmed his country’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and for the just and equitable two-state solution to the Palestinian issue.




Al-Sheikh met with the new European Union representative in Palestine

Today, Tuesday, I met with the new European Union representative in Palestine, His Excellency Ambassador Alexander Stutzman.

We discussed the latest regional and international developments, and the important and effective role of the European Union in finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ending the occupation.

The European Union representative affirmed the Union’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and for a just and equitable two-state solution to the Palestinian issue.




Al-Sheikh met with the German Representative for Palestine

Today, Monday, I met with the German Representative for Palestine, His Excellency Ambassador Oliver Owcza.

I informed him of the latest regional and international developments, and we discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

In turn, Mr. Owcza affirmed the Republic of Germany’s support for the two-state solution.




Al-Sheikh met with Her Excellency the British Consul General in Jerusalem

Today, Thursday, I met with Her Excellency the British Consul General in Jerusalem, Ms. Diane Corner.

We discussed the latest political developments in the region and on the international arena, in addition to bilateral Palestinian-British relations.

I also briefed her on the latest developments in the local political arena. I thanked the Consul for raising aid to UNRWA.

In turn, Ms. Corner stressed their constant support for the two-state solution and the need to seize opportunities to take steps to protect it.
