Today, I received an American delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Mr. Andrew Miller.

I briefed their delegation on the political developments, and asked them to put pressure on the Israeli government to stop all unilateral measures and find a political horizon that leads to ending the occupation and to implement international legitimacy.

I have also emphasized the Israeli side’s non-compliance with the outputs of Aqaba and Sharm el-Sheikh and their continuation of the settlement policy, home demolitions and displacement, which undermines the two-state solution, which is one of the principles of the current US administration.

The Palestinian-American bilateral issues were discussed, and how to bypass the unfair laws against the Palestinians in the US Congress.

There was also talk about the financial crisis of the Palestinian Authority in light of the cessation of US support and the continuation of Israeli deductions for the PA’s funds.

In turn, Mr. Miller expressed the necessity of resuming the strategic dialogue with the US administration and working to resolve outstanding bilateral issues, and praised the Palestinian efforts exerted to stabilize the region.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Nabil Abu Irdeneh on the Palestinian side.
