Al-Sheikh received a delegation from the Palestinian community in the United States of America

Today I received a delegation from the Palestinian community in the United States of America.

I briefed them on the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena, and thanked them for their efforts in serving the Palestinian people, appreciating their role in the American arena, their mobilization of American public opinion to spread the Palestinian narrative, and their influence on decision-makers in America. I also stressed the need to stick to international legitimacy and its implementation to preserve the two-state solution. In turn, they thanked the good reception, and the delegation talked about the tasks of the Palestinian American Center and the center’s projects, such as providing wheelchairs and distributing them to the governorates of the country, providing respirators, and providing tests for Covid, providing a food baskets for the needy and school stationery, as well as their meetings with the Senate and members of Congress, as charitable humanitarian work intersects with politics in Mobilizing voices in support of the Palestinian cause.




Al-Sheikh received the representative of the European Union to the State of Palestine

Today, Wednesday, I received the representative of the European Union to the State of Palestine, Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff.

I briefed him on the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena. And I demanded that the European position take positive steps forward, especially the recognition of the State of Palestine, as its purely political and it preserves the two-state solution, which is dying daily in light of the Israeli escalatory measures, especially the settlements.

I wished Mr. Burgsdorff success in his next endeavor and thanked him for his positions in support of the Palestinian cause and his work in the service of the Palestinian people. In turn, the representative thanked the efforts exerted to facilitate the work of the European Union and the continuous support, stressing the continuation of the partnership in working with the Palestinian Authority to serve the Palestinian people.




Al-Sheikh met with the Chinese Ambassador

Today I met with the Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Zeng Jixin. We discussed the historical bilateral relations, and the visit of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas last month to the Republic of China was discussed, as it was a successful visit and strengthened the strategic relationship and friendship between the two countries, for which a joint statement was issued, and they decided on an agreement for technical economic cooperation and for paving the infrastructure, as well as the twinning of the municipality of the two cities, Ramallah & Yuhan, and there will be several projects with the Palestine Investment Fund. I also welcomed any political initiative that China might adopt due to the distinguished position that the Republic of China holds because of its relations with all parties. In turn, the Chinese ambassador affirmed China’s firm support for the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian people, and stressed the need to achieve national unity.




Al-Sheikh received the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

I received today, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mubarak Al-Hajri, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Prime Minister’s Advisor to the Arab and Islamic Funds Minister Nasser Qatami.

At the beginning of the meeting, I expressed the appreciation of the State of Palestine and our thanks to the Kuwaiti government, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, and the Kuwaiti people, for continuing the great support they provide to our Palestinian people, and their keenness to embody state institutions. I briefed the guest delegation on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, especially with regard to political developments, the continuous Israeli violations against our people, the efforts of the Palestinian leadership and the international endeavors to provide protection for the Palestinian people.

The successive visits of the Kuwaiti people to Palestine, for synergy, cooperation and solidarity with the Palestinian people, have a high and great value for us, and they are priceless, and this shows the Kuwaiti people’s historical perseverance with the Palestinian cause. In turn, the guest delegation affirmed Kuwait’s firm position and support for the decisions of the Palestinian government, and support for the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence, to establish their Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif Jerusalem its capital.




Al-Sheikh met with HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman

I met today with HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman, Mr Badr Al-Busaidi, and his accompanying delegation on their visit to Palestine, and we discussed recent developments and the need for joint Arab action to stop the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

As well as deepening and strengthening the bonds of brotherly relations between Palestine and Oman.




Al-Sheikh received the British Consul General

Today, Thursday, I received the British Consul General, Her Excellency Consul Diane Corner.

I discussed with the Consul the conditions and the tragic losses on the ground as a result of the Israeli aggression on Jenin, as well as settler terrorism and the decisions of the occupation government regarding thousands of settlement units, as well as the recent decisions of the Palestinian leadership.

The occupation government renounces all agreements and understandings, which means dragging the region into more tension and escalation.




Al-Sheikh congratulates Algeria on independence day

I congratulate the State of Algeria, its president, government and people, on the occasion of the glorious Independence Day, which is on the fifth day of July.

I pray to God on this cherished occasion, that Algeria and its people will achieved their aspirations of progress and prosperity, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

We, as Palestinians, are proud of our strong relations with the country of a million martyrs, and our high appreciation for Algeria’s steadfast and supportive stances on the rights of our people and our just struggle to restore our land and sanctities, and to establish our independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

We reaffirm our constant aspiration to strengthen the means of cooperation and joint coordination for the good of our peoples and to serve our just causes and the great efforts made by Algeria to achieve national reconciliation.




Al-Sheikh discusses with Safadi the joint effort to stop the Israeli aggression against Jenin and its camp

An urgent call took place this morning between me and His Excellency the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, and we discussed the development of the situation in Jenin and the joint effort at the Arab and international levels to stop the Israeli aggression against Jenin and its camp.

This continuous aggression against our people, which will drag the region into a spiral of violence and instability.

I handed over the Qatari donation of one million dollars to the institutions and associations of Jenin and its camp.

PLO Secretary-General urges international community to act “before it is too late”

Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)’s Executive Committee, Hussein al-Sheikh, urged today the international community “to act urgently before it is too late” and to send investigation and protection committees for the crimes of the occupation.

Al-Sheikh said in a tweet that “the role of the Palestinian Authority is to achieve the Palestinian national project of freedom, independence and protection of the Palestinian people.”

He stressed that the PA “will not accept anything other than this national and historical role. What we are exposed to is a fierce, all-out war that requires the unity and cohesion of our people with all their forces.”
