Ramallah, March 8, 2026 – On Sunday, Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh called on the international community to intervene immediately to protect innocent Palestinians and to take serious punitive measures against the perpetrators of these terrorist acts.

This came in the wake of a major escalation of settler terrorism in the West Bank, most recently with the brutal attack on innocent civilians in the village of Abu Falah near Ramallah, which killed three and wounded seven. This follows previous terrorist attacks on the village of Qaryut and Wadi al-Rakhim east of Yatta, as well as other acts of terrorism, including road closures, checkpoints, and incursions.

Ramallah, 1 March 2026 – In a phone call, His Excellency Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, discussed with His Excellency Mr. Badr Abdelatty, Egyptian Foreign Minister, the latest developments in the region that threaten security and stability, and the need for continued Arab coordination to confront the current challenges.

Ramallah, 28 February 2026 – His Excellency Mr. Hussein Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, had a phonecall with with His Excellency the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

During the call, Al Sheikh reiterated his condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks against the State of Kuwait and our solidarity and support for our Arab brothers.

Ramallah, 28 February 2026 – His Excellency Mr. Hussein Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, held telephone conversations with his brothers, the Foreign Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Jordanian Foreign Minister, His Excellency Ayman Safadi, and the Bahraini Foreign Minister, His Excellency Abdullatif Al-Zayani, expressing his condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Arab capitals.

Al Sheikh affirmed the State of Palestine’s complete solidarity with its Arab brothers.

Ramallah, February 20, 2026 – His Excellency Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, welcomed Mr. Nikolay Mladenov’s announcement of the establishment of the Palestinian Authority’s liaison office, which will provide an official channel for coordination and communication between the Board of Peace’s Representative’s office and the Palestinian Authority to implement President Trump’s plan and Security Council Resolution 2803.

Ramallah, February 15, 2026 – Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh met today, Sunday, with UNDP Administrator Alexander de Croo, in the presence of the UNDP Special Representative for Assistance to the Palestinian People, Dr. Jaco Cilliers.

During the meeting, they discussed humanitarian and economic developments in the Palestinian territories, with a particular focus on the Gaza Strip and the development aspect in the West Bank.

Al Sheikh demonstrated the unprecedented scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip and the urgent need to accelerate early recovery efforts and rehabilitate infrastructure, including the water, sanitation, electricity, and health sectors. In addition to emphasizing the need to provide immediate job opportunities to revitalize the local economy and alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis. He stressed that supporting the resilience of our people in Gaza requires large-scale development interventions, coordinated with national parties, to ensure an effective and sustainable response.

The meeting also addressed the serious repercussions of the blockade and economic measures imposed on the West Bank, their impact on various productive and service sectors, and the resulting economic pressure that increases unemployment rates and undermines the ability of institutions to continue operating.

Al Sheikh emphasized the importance of expanding programs to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), empowering youth and women, and strengthening social protection, all of which contribute to reduce the effects of the economic blockade.

Mr De Croo affirmed UNDP’s commitment to continuing its work in the State of Palestine and intensifying its programs in the areas of economic recovery, capacity building, and community support. He also noted the importance of close partnership with the Palestinian government to ensure that interventions align with national priorities, supporting recovery efforts in Gaza and contributing to enhanced economic and social stability in the West Bank, within a sustainable development vision that serves the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

Ramallah – 10/02/2026 – Today, Tuesday, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al Sheikh, held an expanded meeting in Ramallah with ambassadors from Arab and foreign countries, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives of international organizations operating in Palestine, to discuss the ongoing Israeli escalation and its serious repercussions on the political and humanitarian situations.

Al Sheikh briefed the attendees on the latest developments concerning the practices of the Israeli occupation, particularly the continued aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, accompanied by siege, starvation, and unprecedented humanitarian suffering. In addition, he addressed the escalating settler attacks in the West Bank, the ongoing land confiscation policies, and the withholding of Palestinian funds, which has led to a financial and economic crisis, in flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.

During the meeting, Al Sheikh affirmed the commitment to moving forward with promoting democracy in Palestine, holding elections at all levels, implementing reforms, combating corruption, and drafting a constitution for the State of Palestine, thus completing the decades-long process of transitioning from an authority to a state.

Al Sheikh also reviewed the recent decisions of the Israeli cabinet, which represent an explicit renunciation of signed commitments and agreements, and a direct undermining of all international covenants and treaties, warning of the repercussions of these policies on the prospects for achieving security and stability in the region.

During the meeting, Al Sheikh stressed the necessity for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and exert real and effective pressure on the occupation government to halt its aggression and ongoing violations, respect international law, and guarantee respect for the sovereignty of the internationally recognized State of Palestine. He also emphasized that continued international silence encourages the occupation to persist in its aggressive and settlement policies. Mere condemnation and denunciation are no longer sufficient, and the international community must take clear and deterrent measures that genuinely contribute to the implementation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, ultimately leading to the establishment of the State of Palestine.

Ramallah – 10/02/2026 – On Tuesday, H.E. the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, said in a statement that the Palestinian leadership has called on all civil and security institutions in the State of Palestine not to engage with the occupation’s measures and to reject them, while adhering to the Palestinian laws in force in the State of Palestine, in accordance with international law and signed agreements.
Al Sheikh added: “We urge the Palestinian people to remain steadfast and resilient on their homeland, and to categorically reject dealing with the occupation’s laws, most recently those approved by the Israeli government a few days ago, which contradict international law and the agreements signed with the Palestine Liberation Organization.”
He further renewed his call on the international community to take a firm stand against Israel’s extreme-right government and its expansionist, racist, and settler-colonial occupation policies.

Ramallah – 09/02/2026 – His Excellency Hussein Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, demanded that the Arab League Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Security Council to hold emergency sessions to discuss the dangerous decisions of the Israeli government and adopt an Arab-Islamic-international stance that condemns these measures and demands that the Israeli government retract them immediately.

Ramallah – 08/02/2026 – In a statement on Sunday, His Excellency Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, said that what is being circulated about impending Israeli decisions to deepen annexation and impose new realities in the West Bank, including in Area A, constitutes a nullification of all signed and binding agreements between the parties and represents a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law.

Al Sheikh also pointed out that these unilateral measures aim to undermine any political horizon, dismantle the two-state solution, and drag the region into further tension and instability.

The Vice President called on the U.S. administration and the international community to intervene immediately to halt this occupation-driven aggression.
