Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discusses latest political and security developments with chiefs of the security services

Ramallah – 21/09/2025 – By the mandate of HE Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas, and in the presence of HE the Prime Minister, HE Major General Haj Ismail, HE the Minister of Interior Ziad Hab alRih, the Attorney General, and the chiefs of the security services, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, held a meeting on Sunday evening to discuss the latest political and security developments in light of the Israeli escalation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as the ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also addressed the challenges facing our cause and our people as a result.

The attendees also highlighted the significance of the recent international recognitions of the State of Palestine, which are considered a victory for our people’s national rights and for justice, peace, and security in the region.

In accordance with the instructions of HE Mr President Abbas, plans were drawn up to strengthen the steadfastness of our people in their homeland and to ensure their security and protection.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh thanks countries that recognize the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state

Ramallah, September 21, 2025 – In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, calling it a historic day in the life of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

Al Sheikh said: “The international victory for truth, rights, suffering, displacement, and oppression. The world triumphs for humanity, justice, peace, and the right of peoples to self-determination”

He added: “Thank you, Britain, Canada, and Australia, for recognizing the State of Palestine. A historic day in the life of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.”

Sheikh noted that this recognition is the fruit of the patience, steadfastness, resilience, and sacrifices of the great people of Palestine.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh meets with French Consul General to discuss developments at New York conference

Ramallah – 18/09/2025 – The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, met today, Thursday, with the French Consul General, Nicolas Kassianides, to discuss the latest developments regarding the joint French–Saudi efforts to hold the international conference for the recognition of the State of Palestine on the 1967 lines, scheduled to be held on the 22nd of this month in New York City.

During the meeting, Al Sheikh emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to ensure the success of this conference, considering it a pivotal political milestone in strengthening recognition of the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing that French and Saudi support constitutes a fundamental pillar in achieving this goal.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh: The Palestinian state will rise with the inevitability of the victory of oppressed and occupied peoples

Ramallah, September 11, 2025 – Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh said in a statement that the Palestinian state will rise with the inevitability of the victory of oppressed and occupied peoples and the end of the occupation, and its demise, no matter what extent of tyranny and bullying the occupation acts; its fate is to depart.

He added: “the Palestinian state will rise, whether people like it or not, whether they accept it or not. The shaping of reality through the force and might of militarization will not change the inevitable historical course that the will of peoples for freedom, independence, and the right to self-determination will not be defeated. Neither E1 nor any other occupation measures will prevent the Palestinian people from achieving their legitimate national goals, with the support and backing of brothers and friends around the world.”




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh condemns Israel’s attack on Qatar

Ramallah, September 9, 2025 – In a statement issued today, Tuesday, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, strongly condemn the Israeli attack that targeted the brotherly State of Qatar.

Al Sheikh considered this attack, which constitutes a serious violation of international law and the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, a threat to security and stability in the region.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discusses a range of mutual issues with the Qatari Prime Minister

Doha, Sunday, September 7, 2025 – Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh met with H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, as part of his official visit to Doha.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the State of Palestine and the State of Qatar and ways to strengthen our existing cooperation, in addition to the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The Vice President conveyed to H.E. the Prime Minister the greetings of H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine, to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and his wishes for His Highness continued health and well being , and for the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity.

The Vice President emphasized that the urgent priority is to halt the aggression against the Gaza Strip and to ensure the immediate, safe, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the catastrophic suffering faced by the people in Gaza.

During the meeting, they also discussed the efforts and momentum being built for the recognition of the State of Palestine at the upcoming conference on 22 September in New York, which will strengthen the political process and restore the rights of the Palestinian people.

His Excellency expressed his deep appreciation for the steadfast positions of the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of accumulating regional and international efforts in this regard.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh appreciates UAE’s rejection of West Bank annexation

Ramallah – 03/09/2025 – The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, highly appreciate the stance of the state of the UAE in rejecting the Israeli measures to annex any parts of the West Bank, considering it a red line for the Emirates, which undermines regional integration and destroys the two-state solution.

Ramallah, September 2, 2025 – A phone call took place today, Tuesday, between His Excellency Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.

During the call, they discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian front, including the issue of denying visas to the Palestinian delegation to the United Nations, and ways to mobilize international recognition of the State of Palestine at the upcoming international conference.

They also reviewed the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and affirmed the priority of ending the aggression, bringing in humanitarian aid, linking Gaza with the West Bank under the sovereignty of the State of Palestine, and moving forward with reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

They further addressed the grave situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including settlement expansion, settler violence, annexation attempts, the withholding of clearance revenues, and economic restrictions.

The two sides affirmed the continuation of close coordination between the State of Palestine and the Republic of Türkiye to confront current challenges and to strengthen efforts at the international level, while stressing the importance of holding the Peace Conference in New York on its scheduled date, September 22, without change.




Vice President of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh meets with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman at the Royal Court in Riyadh

Riyadh, September 1, 2025 – Vice President of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh met His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammad bin Salman, at the Royal Court in Riyadh.

The meeting was attended by the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Al-Khalidi; the Vice President’s Advisor Major General Rislan Shibrahim; and the Vice President’s Chief of Staff Mrs. Ayah AlMuhisin. From the Saudi side, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the National Security Advisor, His Excellency Minister Musaed al-Aiban.

The Vice President conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and expressing his thanks and appreciation for the Kingdom’s steadfast positions and significant efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause on all fronts.

For his part, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince conveyed his greetings to President Mahmoud Abbas, affirming the importance of continuing efforts to mobilize international recognitions of the State of Palestine and support initiatives aimed at the success of the International Peace Conference scheduled to be held in New York on 22 September 2025.

During the meeting, the latest developments in Palestine were reviewed, including the issue of visa denials for the Palestinian delegation to the United Nations, and ways to mobilize international recognitions of the Palestinian State during the upcoming international conference.  

The dangerous situations in the West Bank and Jerusalem were also discussed, including settlement activities, settler violence, and the withholding of clearance revenues.  

Regarding the Gaza Strip, emphasis was placed on prioritizing an immediate ceasefire, the entry of aid, the assumption of responsibility by the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip and its linkage to the West Bank under the sovereignty of the State of Palestine, the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, and this with Arab and international support.  

The two sides affirmed the continuation of close coordination between the State of Palestine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to confront current challenges and enhance Arab and international efforts aimed at ending the occupation and realizing the independent State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem.




Al Sheikh calls on US to reverse decision to deny Palestinian delegation from attending UN General Assembly meetings

Ramallah, 29/08/2025 – The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, has called on the United States of America to reconsider and reverse its decision to deny the Palestinian delegation entry visas to New York to attend the General Assembly meetings.

Al Sheikh considered this decision is against international law and the rules and laws of the headquarters.
