Al Sheikh: The attacks on Jordan and Egypt are part of a malicious attempt to weaken the Arab position.

Ramallah, July 31, 2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh said in a statement on Thursday: “Amid the organized attack targeting Egypt and Jordan, it cannot be ignored that both countries stand on sensitive frontlines, bearing the burden of regional stability despite the challenges.”

He added: “The assault on them is not spontaneous but part of malicious attempts to weaken their positions and disrupt any Arab balance.”

Al Sheikh stressed that those who attack Egypt and Jordan today deliberately ignore their role in supporting the Palestinian cause, their steadfast stance as a formidable barrier against the displacement of our people, and their support for our people’s resilience and steadfastness on their homeland’s soil, as well as the joint political efforts with brothers and friends to stop the war of extermination and starvation, and to expand the circle of countries that have expressed readiness to recognize the State of Palestine.

Al Sheikh saluted Egypt and Jordan, their leadership and people, for their firm, steadfast, and victorious positions in support of our people’s right to freedom and independence.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh welcomes New York conference statement calling for recognition of Palestine and end to war

Ramallah, July 30, 2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh welcomed the New York conference statement issued by the group of participating countries, which called for the recognition of the State of Palestine, the revival of the political process based on the two-state solution, the restoration of international legitimacy, the cessation of the war in the Gaza Strip, and the immediate delivery of aid without any obstacles.

Al Sheikh affirmed the commitment to what was stated in the letter of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas to both His Excellency President Macron and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

Vice President Al Sheikh expresses gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its efforts with France to push it toward recognising the State of Palestine

Ramallah, July 25, 2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh said that yesterday evening he had a phone call with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the great efforts made by His Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in his communications with France and pushing for its recognition of the State of Palestine.

This follows the letter from HE President Macron that arrived this evening to HE the President of the State of Palestine, in which he confirmed France’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine in September.

Ramallah, July 24, 2025 – Vice President of the State of Palestine and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PLO, His Excellency Hussein Al Sheikh said that French President His Excellency Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his decision to recognize the State of Palestine represents France’s commitment to international law and its support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state.

Al Sheikh expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron for his letter to His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he reaffirmed France’s steadfast position and confirmed his country’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine in September.

He also expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the significant efforts it has made alongside France to recognize the State of Palestine.

Ramallah – July 23, 2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh stated that the Israeli Knesset’s demand for the Israeli government to impose sovereignty over the West Bank represents not only a direct assault on the rights of the Palestinian people, but also a dangerous escalation that undermines the prospects for peace, stability, and the two-state solution based on negotiation, which enforces and protects regional security.

He added, “These unilateral Israeli actions blatantly violate international law and the ongoing international consensus regarding the status of the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank.”

He called on the international community to uphold international legitimacy and its resolutions, and to place efforts to stop these violations and prevent the consolidation of the occupation as a reality by force. We also call on the countries of the world to recognize the State of Palestine and to condemn and denounce this decision.

During the meeting, they discussed supporting efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, release the hostages, and deliver urgent aid to the Palestinian people there.

Ramallah, 8 July 2025 – The Palestinian Vice President, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, received in his office in Ramallah today, a delegation from the European Union Border Assistance Mission, represented by Ms. Natalia Apostolova, Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission, Mr. Stefano Tomat, Commander of Civilian Operations at the Mission’s headquarters in Brussels, and Mr. Alexander Stutzman, Representative of the European Union in Palestine, and their accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Head of the Civil Affairs Authority, Ayman Qandil, and the Director General of the General Administration of Crossings and Borders, Nazmi Mhanna.
