A phone call between Vice President Hussein AL Sheikh and the Turkish Foreign Minister, during which they discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian front.

Ramallah, September 2, 2025 – A phone call took place today, Tuesday, between His Excellency Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.

During the call, they discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian front, including the issue of denying visas to the Palestinian delegation to the United Nations, and ways to mobilize international recognition of the State of Palestine at the upcoming international conference.

They also reviewed the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and affirmed the priority of ending the aggression, bringing in humanitarian aid, linking Gaza with the West Bank under the sovereignty of the State of Palestine, and moving forward with reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

They further addressed the grave situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including settlement expansion, settler violence, annexation attempts, the withholding of clearance revenues, and economic restrictions.

The two sides affirmed the continuation of close coordination between the State of Palestine and the Republic of Türkiye to confront current challenges and to strengthen efforts at the international level, while stressing the importance of holding the Peace Conference in New York on its scheduled date, September 22, without change.




Vice President of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh meets with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman at the Royal Court in Riyadh

Riyadh, September 1, 2025 – Vice President of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh met His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammad bin Salman, at the Royal Court in Riyadh.

The meeting was attended by the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Al-Khalidi; the Vice President’s Advisor Major General Rislan Shibrahim; and the Vice President’s Chief of Staff Mrs. Ayah AlMuhisin. From the Saudi side, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the National Security Advisor, His Excellency Minister Musaed al-Aiban.

The Vice President conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and expressing his thanks and appreciation for the Kingdom’s steadfast positions and significant efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause on all fronts.

For his part, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince conveyed his greetings to President Mahmoud Abbas, affirming the importance of continuing efforts to mobilize international recognitions of the State of Palestine and support initiatives aimed at the success of the International Peace Conference scheduled to be held in New York on 22 September 2025.

During the meeting, the latest developments in Palestine were reviewed, including the issue of visa denials for the Palestinian delegation to the United Nations, and ways to mobilize international recognitions of the Palestinian State during the upcoming international conference.  

The dangerous situations in the West Bank and Jerusalem were also discussed, including settlement activities, settler violence, and the withholding of clearance revenues.  

Regarding the Gaza Strip, emphasis was placed on prioritizing an immediate ceasefire, the entry of aid, the assumption of responsibility by the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip and its linkage to the West Bank under the sovereignty of the State of Palestine, the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, and this with Arab and international support.  

The two sides affirmed the continuation of close coordination between the State of Palestine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to confront current challenges and enhance Arab and international efforts aimed at ending the occupation and realizing the independent State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh meets with the US Ambassador and discuss supporting efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, release the hostages, and deliver urgent aid to the Palestinian people.

Ramallah – July 22, 2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh met with US Ambassador Mike Huckabee today at his office in Ramallah.
During the meeting, they discussed supporting efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, release the hostages, and deliver urgent aid to the Palestinian people there.
The current situation in the West Bank was also discussed, including the severe economic and financial crisis and settler violence. Ways to strengthen bilateral relations were explored, as well as the importance of the American role in achieving stability, security, and peace in the region.




Al Sheikh meets with a delegation from the European Union Border Assistance Mission and stresses the need for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian support for Gaza.

Ramallah, 8 July 2025 – The Palestinian Vice President, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, received in his office in Ramallah today, a delegation from the European Union Border Assistance Mission, represented by Ms. Natalia Apostolova, Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission, Mr. Stefano Tomat, Commander of Civilian Operations at the Mission’s headquarters in Brussels, and Mr. Alexander Stutzman, Representative of the European Union in Palestine, and their accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Head of the Civil Affairs Authority, Ayman Qandil, and the Director General of the General Administration of Crossings and Borders, Nazmi Mhanna.

Al Sheikh was briefed by the delegation on the serious challenges facing the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, in light of the continued famine and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation as a result of the ongoing war, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance international efforts to ensure the speedy, safe and regular arrival of this aid. The VP Al Sheikh praised the important role assumed by EUBAM in Rafah, especially in the areas of training staff working at the crossings, developing their professional capacities, and the entry of humanitarian aid..

Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh meets with the European Union Special Representative Mr. Christophe Bigot

Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh met with the European Union Special Representative, Mr. Christophe Bigot, in the presence of the Special Representative’s Chief of Staff and Political Advisor, Mr. Martin Mikkelsen, and the European Union Representative in Palestine, Mr. Alexander Stutzmann.

The prospects for political solutions were discussed, given the Palestinian leadership’s efforts and priorities to halt the war of extermination waged by the occupation against our people.

Al Sheikh stressed the need to press for a ceasefire and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to our people in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of formulating a common political horizon. He also thanked the European Union for its support for the State of Palestine, calling on all EU countries to take effective steps towards recognizing the Palestinian state. He also pointed to the great importance of the New York Conference on the two-state solution, to be held on the 17th of this month, and the opportunity it represents towards achieving just peace in the region.

Ramallah – 04/06/2025 – Palestinian Vice President Hussein al Sheikh received Anne-Claire Legendre, Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, and French Consul General Nicolas Kassianides, to discuss shared political visions for ending the war of extermination against the Palestinian people and recognizing the state of #Palestine.  

The event was attended by the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Al Khalidi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian-Shahin, Palestinian Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh, and Chief of Staff of the Vice President, Ayah AlMuhisin.  

During the meeting, Al Sheikh conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to His Excellency French President Emmanuel Macron, reaffirming the Palestinian leadership’s priorities of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and prisoners, and the need to deliver urgent humanitarian relief to Gazans. He also emphasized the need to stop the occupation’s escalating measures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, for the State of Palestine to assume full responsibility for Gaza, for the occupation’s  full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip completely, and for the implementation of the two-state solution based on international legitimacy, leading to the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Al Sheikh highly valued the French-Saudi efforts to hold an international conference on the two-state solution in New York on the 17th of this month, calling for practical measures regarding the recognition of the State of Palestine by #France and the participating countries, as this would protect the two-state solution, and the importance of developing a peace plan to put an end to the conflict, and providing economic and financial support to continue building state institutions and support development and reconstruction projects. Some bilateral issues were also discussed, and the historic partnership between the State of Palestine and France for peacemaking was emphasized. He also praised France’s valuable support for the Palestinian cause, and the reform process of Palestinian institutions was discussed, emphasizing our commitment to international legitimacy and international law.




Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discusses the latest developments in the region with Canada’s representative to the Palestinian Authority, Mr. Graham Dattels.

Vice President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Hussein Al Sheikh, received the Canadian Representative to the Palestinian Authority, Graham Dattels, at his office in Ramallah today. The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the humanitarian and political situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting addressed international efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip, and the humanitarian catastrophe, and provide immediate and urgent humanitarian aid. They also addressed domestic reform efforts at various levels, as well as the deteriorating security and financial situation in the West Bank. Mr. Dattels affirmed his country’s condemnation of starvation as a political tool in the Gaza Strip and called on Israel to immediately cease the war. He also reiterated Canada’s condemnation of Israeli violations in the West Bank, including settlement expansion, settler violence, and the illegal withholding of Palestinian Authority funds. Canada’s steadfast and supportive position toward the Palestinian people and their leadership was emphasized, along with Ottawa’s continued provision of financial, security, and political support to the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause in international forums. Al Sheikh praised Canada’s political position calling for an immediate end to the war and starvation in the Gaza Strip, and for an end to Israeli violations in the West Bank. He also commended Canada’s continued support for the Palestinian people, the Palestinian Authority, and all its institutions. He called on Canada to recognize the State of Palestine as a fundamental part of carrying the hopes of the Palestinian people and working to end the occupation and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.




Al-Sheikh met with the Head of the German Representative Office for Palestine

Today, Monday, I met with the Head of the German Representative Office for Palestine, His Excellency Ambassador Oliver Owcza.

We discussed the latest developments on the internal, regional and international political scene, including the formation of the new government headed by Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, and the intensified regional efforts in close coordination with our Arab brothers, and the vigorous international action with friendly countries to end the war and the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, and the escalation of Israeli violations in the West Bank, and the confiscation of Palestinian Authority revenues.

The necessity of recognizing the Palestinian state and the importance of this step were also emphasized. On the other hand, Mr. Owcza stressed his country’s firm position in support of reaching an immediate and durable ceasefire, implementing the two-state solution, and establishing an independent State of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
