AlSheikh on the Israeli incursions of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Fatah Central Committee Member and Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs, Minister Hussein AlSheikh, confirmed in a press statement that Israeli incursions of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque embody a political decision to reinforce de facto occupation and a challenge to the international community.

Al-Sheikh added in a tweet that these incursions give serious indications about the orientations of the new government in Israel.

Minister AlSheikh stressed the important role that Italy plays through the European Union in supporting the Palestinian people, in the humanitarian fields, as well as politically in supporting the Palestinian people in their right to self-determination and independence, according to international legitimacy.




AlSheikh calls upon international institutions to save detainee’s life

The Head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs and Fatah Central Committee Member, Minister Hussein AlSheikh, said that Israel holds full responsibility for the life of the detainee Ghadhanfar Abu Atwan.

In a press release, AlSheikh called on international institutions to immediately intervene to save Ghadhanfar’s life, who is being held on administrative detention by Israel and whose life is in real danger due to hunger strike




AlSheikh welcomes the Russian Foreign Minister’s call for activating the Quartet

The Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs and Fatah Central Committee Member, Minister Hussein AlSheikh, welcomed, in a press statement on Friday, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s call for activating the Quartet and its role in the peace process, and the right of the Palestinians to establish their state in accordance with international legitimacy.

Lavrov said in a press statement on Friday, “We have ideas for activating the Quartet to resume peace negotiations,” stressing the Palestinians’ right to statehood.

President Abbas meets Jordan’s Abdullah II in Amman, discuss political developments

President Mahmoud Abbas today met with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Amman.

President Abbas arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where he had a private meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

They discussed the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena, bi-lateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

In this regard, President Abbas affirmed ongoing coordination with Jordan in the interest of the Arab nation and its common causes, primarily the Palestinian cause.

Abbas’ separate meeting with Abdullah was followed by an expanded meeting involving officials from both sides.




AlSheikh demands immediate international intervention in Silwan in the occupied Jerusalem

The Head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs and Fatah Central Committee Member, Minister Hussein AlSheikh, called upon the international community for immediate intervention to stop the house demolitions and the forced displacement of the residents of the Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Minister AlSheikh held the occupying power responsible for this major escalation, noting that the Al-Bustan neighborhood is being subjected to fierce attacks, demolition, destruction, and displacement.

Clashes erupted in the Al-Bustan neighborhood since the morning hours, after it was besieged and its entrances closed, and a commercial facility was demolished, with the expired deadline for the demolition order of 17 houses.




AlSheikh meets with Netherlands Representative, Van Bar

The two parties discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the region, and the ongoing occupation in Palestine, highlighting the updates in the city of Jerusalem and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

AlSheikh stressed the strong relations between the two countries, thanking the Netherlands for its continuous and growing support for our people and their just cause towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.




AlSheikh on the new Israeli government

he Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs and the Fatah Central Committee Member, Minister Hussein AlSheikh, said in a statement that the Palestinian people do not seek better living conditions or civil dialogues.

He continued, “our people are searching for salvation from the Occupation, for their freedom and independent state with its capital in East Jerusalem.”

AlSheikh added that the change in Israeli government is an internal matter, but that the new government must understand that history will not side with the occupation forces.
