Today, Wednesday, I met in my office with the Norwegian Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process, Her Excellency Ambassador Hilde Haraldstad, and the Norwegian Representative to Palestine, Her Excellency Consul General Torunn Viste.
During the meeting, the latest developments were discussed, the latest of which was reaching a humanitarian truce agreement against the brutal Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, which has been continuing for 45 consecutive days, emphasizing that it needs to lead to a definitive end to the war.
The important and effective role of the Kingdom of Norway in finding a solution to the stifling financial crisis in light of the continued stifling practices and occupation violations of the rights of the Palestinian people as a whole was also discussed.
Envoy Haraldstad affirmed her country’s firm position that a solution can only be reached through implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
