Today I met with Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr Zeng Jixin. I discussed with him the historical bilateral relations between the two countries, and the continued Chinese support for the rights of the Palestinian people. And the preparations for the visit of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, which is expected in the middle of this month to China, to discuss issues and developments in the region and Palestinian-Chinese relations.

I received this Tuesday morning, the representative of Switzerland to the State of Palestine Ms. Anne-Lise Henin. This Monday morning, I received the representative of the European Union to the State of Palestine, Mr Sven Kühn Von Burgsdorff The Ambassador was briefed on the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena. I called on the EU to pressure Israel to stop escalatory unilateral measures and also called on EU countries to recognize the State of Palestine.
